Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Better yet, happy belated Valentine's day! I probably should have made this post yesterday, but I found yesterday to be harder than expected. In reality I find everyday to be harder than expected. And although Katie and I didn't do much on Valentine's day, it was hard to not feel the presence of it, or think about how I would have wanted to spend yesterday with her.

Its actually been a while since I have posted. Which really bothers me. Life has been very busy. Too busy. I say that alot, but I really mean it. Busy might seem good for someone in my position, but my busy is adding stress to my life, and not allowing me to grieve, and try to heal. So I am trying make some changes and ask for more help. Right now I just can't do this on my own,

But enough about that! This post is about everyone's favorite holiday, Valentine's Day!!! With each post I make I try to find pictures of Katie, or the two of us, from that day or time of year. As I mentioned above, we really didn't do a whole lot on Valentine's Day. We really didn't feel we needed to. We always knew how much we both meant to each other, and how much we loved each other, so we didn't really need to do anything extra on this day. So, I really don't have alot of pictures to share. Last year we went on our honeymoon in February, not too long after Valentine's day. So below are a few pictures from our honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico. I'll do a whole post on our trip at some point, but for now, enjoy these beautiful pictures of my wife, as her smile fills me up with joy.

As a bonus, I did find two pictures from Valentine's day in 2024. We both enjoy cooking, and we really enjoyed cooking together. This particular evening we wanted to enjoy a really nice home cooked meal. Katie loves a great steak, and I love making a great steak. We found some great steaks at Costco, which I must say, I grilled to perfection. Katie makes this amazing asparagus soup. Sounds odd I know, but its fabulous. So she made her famous soup to go with the steak, and I made my fancy mashed potatoes. Everything was incredible. I'm just wishing I had a picture of her, and not just the food. But I remember that night well, and how much we enjoyed it.

One thing about Katie and I (and dinner), is that when we ate dinner, especially at home at her house, we almost always ate together at the table. It was important to us. To not be in front of the tv, or on our phones. But instead we sat across from each other, enjoyed our meal, had great conversation, and treasured each other's company. It might sound a little odd, cheesy, and maybe a little formal. I certainly wasn't used to it. But I came to really, really appreciate it. I always enjoyed our discussions, regardless of what they were. Sometimes dinner was quick, sometimes it wasn't, but we were both very much present, and I think it aways did wonderful things for our relationship. I have not been able to sit and have dinner at the table alone since. Maybe someday.

Hoping you all had a really nice Valentine's Day, and were able to spend it with the person (people) you love.
